Set in the 1830s, this black comedy centres on a woman, Helene (Alexanda Roach, ‘The Huntsman’) who is washed ashore after her ship is wrecked off the English coast. She marries Edmund, a local pastor (Alex McQueen), but soon realises that both he and her housekeeper, Dorothy (Julia Davis) are horrific people. Her saviour comes in the form of dashing local doctor, Dr. Foggerty (Rufus Jones). But will they be able to elope before it is too late? The show aired on Sky Atlantic between 2012 and 2016. It won two British Comedy Awards and a BAFTA.
